Experience for Dunwoody
Thank you, citizens of Dunwoody! Receiving 44% of your votes is an honor - and a clear indication that experience matters to the citizens of this community. Like you, I believe Dunwoody’s best days are ahead and I look forward to working with all its citizens to make your vision a reality. This is the reason we became a city. As an executive with BellSouth, a Dunwoody small business owner and with two decades of public service serving citizens of Dunwoody, I have the experience needed to move Dunwoody forward so it exceeds our citizens expectations as a family friendly city. That experience also includes chairing Dunwoody’s planning commission, founding Dunwoody YES! board member, Georgia Highway Safety Director, Spruill Center for the Arts chairman, and Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce executive board member. I am also proud of bringing Dunwoody homeowners the HOST tax break, which is Georgia’s largest homeowner tax break in history, further demonstrating my commitment to not raise the millage rate and keep taxes and expenses low.
I am concerned with my opponents apparent desire to take Dunwoody backwards. Concerning me even more is the way he has operated his campaign and personal businesses, with little transparency or ethics. He has violated State of Georgia law with his late filing of financial disclosure statements and campaign contribution reports(*1), resulting in a fine that he has yet to pay(*2). The Department of Labor records show that his private company has also been fined for not paying taxes and according the city of Dunwoody records, he has not obtained or paid for a Dunwoody business license for his home business operations. To those who seek to improve Dunwoody, his response at the last candidate forum was simply to move.
Now is not the time for politicians who play by a different set of rules and who discount citizens' views on the direction of our city. Dunwoody needs honest, experienced leadership with a true vision towards the future while respecting the past. Together, we can make a great city even better. Dunwoody is at a crossroads and your choice in selecting Dunwoody’s next mayor will determine its path. It would be my honor to serve you as your Mayor and I ask for your vote on December 6th.
Thank you,
Bob
